This doesn’t bother me much . In the US we have to say “simulated image” but honestly, even if were a real HUAWEI* image, the means of reproduction for the ad — TV screen, computer, magazine, etc — are not an actual phone screen, so there will always be misrepresentation in the translation. I thought this was going to be about how offensive it was to women when he looked at her and seemed repulsed at #nofilter.

By definition a marketer is trying to sell you something, and you should never trust the word of someone trying to sell you something. While there’s a chance they’re being honest about the capabilities, there’s a huge incentive to not be.

It was funny the first two times Top Gear did that gag. Now it’s just old. And given the current climate when anything ‘furren’ is dismissed outright for not being ‘Murican, I have had enough. English is filled with borrowed words. And learning how to say things correctly does not make one a weakling, pinko communist, or whatever the favorite purgative towards the “left” and intellectualism is at the moment.
